About the Role:
We are seeking a Special Projects Manager for a 12 month fixed term contract at our Meandu mine. In this role you will use your project management skills to lead a team focused on the delivery of a range of assigned Capital Works, Minor Works and Maintenance projects for Stanwell. You will provide technical project management advice and assistance in relation to projects and contracts being managed.
Key responsibilities:
• Lead project planning and coordination
• Administering the Special Works Contracts to preserve and claim entitlements
• Maintaining positive relationships with client and stakeholders
• Track and evaluate the performance of project teams and subcontractors to ensure quality and efficiency
• Preparing and calculating progress claims
• Identifying and resolving performance issues promptly
• Preparing and delivering reports on production costs and manage project budgets
• Overseeing the procurement process for projects
• Reporting against project schedules and planning or forecasting for timely delivery
• Accurately tracking, monitoring and reporting on project budgets, risks, milestones and documentation
• Maintaining Risks and Variation registers
• Providing monthly cost reporting such that each project is transparently forecasted to completion in terms of revenue, cost and risk
• Coordinating suppliers and managing material logistics
• Conducting site inspections and upholding HSEQ standards
About You:
• Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a similar role in the mining and resources industry, preferably with exposure to pipe networks and systems and capital works construction
• Hold G1, G8, G9 and STD11 qualifications
The successful candidate will have substantial knowledge and experience in building project and contract management, including assessing and managing human and financial resources, with broad knowledge and experience in procurement, contract conditions and interpretation of legislation.

Meandu Mine
BUMA Australia provides a total mine service to Stanwell Corporation’s Meandu Mine to deliver coal to the adjacent Tarong power station. We are responsible for both managing and operating the mine.
Services provided include planning, drilling, overburden removal, coal mining, coal processing, rehabilitation and maintenance of mobile and fixed plant. The project uses a combination of dragline and truck-and shovel operations. Meandu Mine currently has five working pits, with sufficient coal to fuel the stations until at least 2037.
