About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Reliability & Planning Superintendent to lead the reliability, maintenance planning and asset management functions at Meandu Mine. This role is critical in ensuring the optimal performance, availability and longevity of mining equipment and infrastructure through proactive reliability engineering, condition monitoring and asset technology.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the site reliability and planning team to deliver equipment availability and reliability
- Develop and implement reliability strategies
- Oversee the maintenance planning and scheduling process
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and maintenance costs
- Manage and interpret condition monitoring data to inform maintenance decisions
- Collaborate with OEMs, vendors, and internal stakeholders
- Utilise asset technology to enhance maintenance performance.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and statutory requirements
- Provide technical mentoring and leadership to engineers and maintenance personnel
About You:
- Tertiary qualifications in Maintenance Engineering (Mechanical, Engineering, Mechatronics etc) or Maintenance trade background
- 5+ years’ experience in maintenance related roles. Experience with mobile assets essential
- Maintenance planning experience or on-site mining experience in an operational maintenance role desirable
- Asset health and condition-based maintenance experience
- Analytical capability, with knowledge of fundamental reliability analysis techniques including RCA, FMEA and Predictive Maintenance tools
- Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite, SAP, Power BI dashboard development and project management tools
- Demonstrated positive safety leadership skills and behaviour
- Strong people leadership, communication and organisational skills

Meandu Mine
BUMA Australia provides a total mine service to Stanwell Corporation’s Meandu Mine to deliver coal to the adjacent Tarong power station. We are responsible for both managing and operating the mine.
Services provided include planning, drilling, overburden removal, coal mining, coal processing, rehabilitation, and maintenance of mobile and fixed plant. The project uses a combination of dragline and truck-and shovel operations. Meandu Mine currently has five working pits, with sufficient coal to fuel the stations until at least 2037.
