Meandu Mine
BUMA Australia provides a total mine service to Stanwell Corporation’s Meandu Mine to deliver coal to the adjacent Tarong power station. We are responsible for both managing and operating the mine.
Services provided include planning, drilling, overburden removal, coal mining, coal processing, rehabilitation, and maintenance of mobile and fixed plant. The project uses a combination of dragline and truck-and shovel operations. Meandu Mine currently has five working pits, with sufficient coal to fuel the stations until at least 2037.
Please note that this is a Residential Mine – no camp accommodation or housing provided. As such this role would be best suited to current or returning residents of the Kingaroy region.
Job Description

The ideal candidate would have demonstrated experience in a combination of the following:
- Bucyrus BE1370W dragline
- Hitachi EX8000 excavator
- Hitachi EX5500 excavators
- Hitachi EX3600 excavators
- Caterpillar D11 tracked dozers
- Caterpillar D10 tracked dozers
- Komatsu WD900 wheel dozer
About You
- Current Standard 11 (desired)
- Coal Board Medical (desired)
- Valid drivers license
- Proven experience operating mining machinery outlined above via transcripts
- Safety focused with a high attention to detail
- A passion for operating big machinery with a positive 'can do' attitude!
