Meandu Mine

 

BUMA Australia provides a total mine service to Stanwell Corporation’s Meandu Mine to deliver coal to the adjacent Tarong power station. We are responsible for both managing and operating the mine.

 

Services provided include planning, drilling, overburden removal, coal mining, coal processing, rehabilitation, and maintenance of mobile and fixed plant. The project uses a combination of dragline and truck-and shovel operations. Meandu Mine currently has five working pits, with sufficient coal to fuel the stations until at least 2037.

 

Please note that Meandu is a residential mine with no accommodation provided, therefore only those local to the area will be successful in their application.

 

About the Role:

 

Our Meandu Mine is currently looking for an experienced Minor Plant Coordinator to join the team in a permanent full-time capacity. As a Minor Plant Coordinator at Meandu, you will enjoy a diverse range of work providing supervision to the Minor Plant maintenance team both in the field and workshop including repairing. Additionally, you will ensure quality maintenance is performed on all Minor Plant assets as well as assisting with pre-start meetings and communicating requirements to the Maintenance team.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act in accordance with BUMA’s Values & Standard of Business Conduct.
  • Discharge HSE responsibilities incorporating the implementation and maintenance of safe system of work (planning, people, equipment, change).
  • Providing leadership to the Minor Plant maintenance team to achieve the weekly maintenance plan.
  • Track maintenance performance (through supervisors and leading hands) and ensure operational issues are managed and communicated in a timely manner.
  • Work with Maintenance Superintendents to review plant performance at the project (in terms of availability, breakdowns and backlog) and oversee the implementation of remedial or preventative action where necessary.
  • Monitor work of subcontractors to ensure it is carried out in accordance with business requirements.
  • Liaise with Maintenance Superintendents to ensure plant availability needed to meet production targets.
  • Communicate to maintenance employees’ objectives (ongoing and improvement), measures and targets, monitor performance against expectations. Facilitate training, coaching and other development activities.

 

About You:

 

  • Relevant trade qualifications.
  • Computer skills, specifically OEM programmes experience Desirable.
  • Experience in conducting maintenance on light vehicles, medium vehicles and Mining ancillary equipment in an earth moving setting.
  • Work Planning and Scheduling skills.
  • Ability to work effectively autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Current Standard 11 highly regarded.
  • Knowledge of mine operation regulatory and legislative requirements.
