BUMA is seeking an experienced CHPP (Coal Handling and Preparation Plant) Operations Supervisor with strong leadership skills to join our Meandu site team

Meandu Mine

 

BUMA Australia provides a total mine service to Stanwell Corporation’s Meandu Mine to deliver coal to the adjacent Tarong power station. We are responsible for both managing and operating the mine.

Services provided include mine planning, drilling and blasting, overburden removal, coal mining, coal processing, mine rehabilitation, and maintenance of mobile and fixed plant. The project uses a combination of dragline and truck-and shovel operations. Meandu Mine currently has five working pits, with sufficient coal to fuel the adjacent power stations until at least 2037. Job description: BUMA is seeking an experienced CHPP (Coal Handling and Preparation Plant) Operations Supervisor with strong leadership skills to join our Meandu site team. Reporting to the CHPP Manager you will work in accordance with the company values and demonstrate commitment, active involvement and leadership.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Ensure compliance with the Coal Mining Safety and Health Act 1999 and all other legislative requirements.
  • Mentor a highly motivated production and processing team of CHPP Operators.
  • Responsible for managing risk and supporting compliance with safety and health management systems to deliver optimal production outcomes.
  • Review work practices, actively manage people performance and development, supporting the CHPP Manager in leading change.
  • Actively contribute to daily operations and fixed plant maintenance by participating in pre-start, toolbox feedback and group safety involvement to achieve results.
  • Ensure the continual review of weekly operations, identify and deliver projects to improve Safety, Culture and Productivity.

 

About You:

 

  • Experience in a leadership role within mining
  • 5+ years’ experience in CHPP Operations and/or Maintenance roles
  • Trade Certificate desirable
  • Team player
  • Current STD11
  • Conduct coal stockpile dozer operations desirable
  • High risk EWP, Forklift, Front End Loader, Excavator and Bobcat would be highly regarded
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • Current confined space & working at heights would be highly regarded
