Meandu Mine
BUMA Australia provides a total mine service to Stanwell Corporation’s Meandu Mine to deliver coal to the adjacent Tarong power station. We are responsible for both managing and operating the mine.
Services provided include planning, drilling, overburden removal, coal mining, coal processing, rehabilitation, and maintenance of mobile and field equipment. The project uses a combination of dragline and truck-and shovel operations. Meandu Mine currently has five working pits, with sufficient coal to fuel the stations until at least 2037.
We are currently seeking an experienced Boilermaker to join our team at Meandu Mine site located 25 kilometres south-east of Kingaroy.
Please note that Meandu is a residential mine with no accomodation provided, therefore only those local to the area will be successful in their application.
About the Role:
Our Meandu team are seeking applications from experienced Boilermakers to carry out repairs and maintenance to mobile and field equipment in accordance with SWP’s and manufacturers specifications. You will work in accordance with the company values and demonstrate commitment, active involvement and leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect, service and repair a wide range of mechanical equipment inclusive mobile and field equipment.
- Carry out fabrication repairs and replacements for both general and preventative maintenance
- Ensure repairs are executed in accordance with the manufacturers specifications or supplied work instructions
- Scope jobs, order parts and work collaboratively with maintenance planners
- Uphold BUMA’s core values to help foster a safe and collaborative environment which promotes integrity and progress
About You:
Successful candidates will possess a combination of the following:
- Trade Certificate
- Previous experience in mining operations or similar heavy industry
- Coal Board Medical & Standard 11 (desirable)
- Problem solving and decision-making skills
- Great communication and interpersonal skills
- Uncompromising attitude to safety
