At Goonyella, we provide labour, supervision, technical support and mobile plant to perform truck and excavator pre-strip operations for one of Queensland's largest coal mining operations.

About the Role

Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, we are seeking an experienced Storeperson to join our Goonyella team on a permanent full-time basis.

Working within a team of six, you will be responsible for supporting a busy mining warehouse holding more than 4,000 SKUs. This is a hands-on role suited to an organised individual who can confidently manage inventory, receipting, picking, dispatch activities and stock control processes within a fast-paced mining environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Issuing parts against maintenance work orders
  • Receiving, unloading and receipting incoming stock
  • Picking and packing parts for maintenance requirements
  • Loading and dispatching outbound freight
  • Managing stock returns and inventory transactions
  • Maintaining tooling registers and equipment records
  • Managing lifting equipment registers and certification requirements
  • Maintaining consumable and PPE stock levels
  • Conducting weekly cycle counts and inventory reconciliations
  • Participating in scheduled warehouse stocktakes throughout the year
  • Escorting delivery vehicles on site as required
  • Operating forklifts and material handling equipment safely and efficiently
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safety-focused warehouse environment

 

About You

To be successful in this role, you will be a motivated warehouse professional with previous experience in the mining, heavy equipment, construction or related industries.

You will bring:

  • Previous experience in a warehouse or stores environment
  • Mining and/or heavy equipment industry experience preferred
  • Experience with inventory management and stock control systems (SAP or similar)
  • Current LF Forklift Licence
  • Current C Class Driver's Licence
  • Strong computer literacy and data entry skills
  • Sound literacy and numeracy skills
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A proactive approach to safety and continuous improvement
