About the Role:

We are seeking a full-time permanent Production Superintendent to join our Goonyella team. This role is a key leadership position within our production department, providing hands-on support to Production Supervisors while working closely with the Project Manager and back-to-back Superintendent to deliver safe, efficient and productive mining outcomes. You will play an important role in coordinating daily production activity, supporting crew performance, driving compliance and ensuring operational plans are executed effectively across shift.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead and support Production Supervisors to ensure safe, compliant and effective shift execution.
• Partner with your back-to-back Superintendent and Tech Services teams to deliver production plans, monitor performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Manage people, equipment and priorities across the production team to achieve safety, productivity and operational targets.
• Maintain strong compliance with Queensland coal mining legislation, site standards and BUMA procedures.
• Coach, mentor and develop frontline leaders, promoting accountability, teamwork and a positive safety culture.

About You: 

• Demonstrated production leadership experience within an open cut coal mining environment.
• Previous experience as a Production Supervisor, Superintendent or similar frontline operational leadership role.
• Queensland Supervisor S123 and G2 qualifications, or ability to obtain.
• Current Standard 11 Surface Induction, or ability to obtain.
• Current Coal Board Medical, or willingness to complete prior to commencement.
• Strong understanding of Queensland coal mining legislation, safety systems and operational compliance requirements.
• Proven ability to lead teams, prioritise work, solve operational issues and influence positive safety and production outcomes.
• Current C Class Driver’s Licence.

Goonyella Mine

Located in the Bowen Basin of Central Queensland, BMA’s Goonyella Mine is one of Queensland’s largest coal mines and is situated approximately 30 kilometres from Moranbah. BUMA Australia provides labour, supervision, technical support and mobile plant to perform truck and excavator pre-strip operations.
