About the Role:

Are you, or someone you know, seeking an opportunity to build a Boilermaker career in the mining industry? We are recruiting for multiple apprentices at Goonyella Mine, to commence in March 2026. Week one will see you take part in a comprehensive onboarding program that includes site and workshop tours, apprentice sign-up, safety inductions, and an introduction to the team and workplace.

As a Boilermaker Apprentice, you will have the opportunity to learn and obtain skills such as:

• Repairing, modifying and refurbishing surface mining equipment
• Heavy duty fabrication, welding, inspections and repairs
• Scoping jobs, ordering parts and working collaboratively with maintenance planners
• Cert III – Boilermaker Trade

About You:

We are seeking driven and goal-oriented applicants with the following:

• Demonstrated positive attitude and eagerness to learn
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
• Proficiency in language, literacy and numeracy
• Driver’s licence 
• Valid right to work in Australia
• QCE or equivalent school leaving qualification

Goonyella Riverside Mine:

Located in the Bowen Basin of Central Queensland, BMA's Goonyella Mine is one of Queensland's largest coal mines. It is situated approximately 30 kilometres from the town of Moranbah.

BUMA Australia provides labour, supervision, technical support and mobile plant to perform truck and excavator pre-strip operations.
