Burton Mine Complex

BUMA Australia has been awarded the contract to develop and mine several satellite pits that are near the old Burton Mine.  Coal extracted at these satellite pits will be transported and processed through the Burton CHPP and railed from the onsite Train Load Out facility.  Burton is world renowned for its high-quality coking coal which is highly sought after in global export markets.

The scope of works includes statutory management of the mining operations, clearing, grubbing and topsoil removal, drill and blast, load and haul of coal and waste, dump management and progressive rehabilitation works. 

 

About the Role:
As BUMA Australia grows, we are seeking full time Production Supervisor with a Queensland OCE competency to join our team. As a Supervisor, you will have strong leadership skills and the ability to positively influence our safety culture. Your ability to lead by example, be proactive and prioritise will be critical to your success.

 

The Production Supervisor plays a key role in:

  • Leading the day to day control and supervision of the mine in accordance with Mine Safety and Inspection requirements
  • Managing workloads and allocating duties across the production team to deliver the plan and ensure all development targets are achieved.
  • Ensuring compliance with the requirements of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act and Mines Safety Inspection Regulations.
  • Maximising compliance with the operational plan by ensuring that all activities under the supervisor’s control are carried out in accordance with the operation plan and work instructions.

 

About You:
Our successful candidate will have strong communication and leadership skills with demonstrated capabilities in coaching and mentoring others.  

Previous experience as a mining supervisor leading production teams in open cut operations 

  • Hold a current Queensland OCE Certificate
  • Strong knowledge of relevant safety legislation
  • C Class Driver’s Licence
