Blackwater Mine: Located approximately 1 hr from Emerald and 2.5 hrs from Rockhampton

Goonyella Riverside: Located approximately 30 minutes from Moranbah and 2.5 hrs from Mackay

Meandu Mine: Located approximately 30 minutes from Kingaroy and 2.5 hrs from Brisbane

About the Role:

As BUMA Australia grows, we are seeking a full time permanent Senior Network Engineer to join our South Bank office, 5 days per week with occasional site travel. The key objectives of the role are to ensure seamless connectivity and optimal performance for our cloud services and mining operations.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain network and security infrastructure including LAN, WAN, content filtering, cloud networking, and DDoS protection.
• Design and implement scalable and resilient network solutions to meet business requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to network availability, performance, and effectiveness.
• Manage and maintain cloud computing infrastructure, including cloud-based servers, networking, and related services.
• Deploy and manage wireless networks ensuring optimal coverage, security, and performance.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access for cloud computing systems, ensuring that appropriate access controls are in place and that user accounts are created, modified, and deleted in accordance with BUMA policies and procedures.
• Monitor system logs and alerts and proactively identify trends and issues before they occur.
• Utilise automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Python, Terraform) to streamline network configurations and management.
• Work with managed service partner to resolve level 2 incidents and service requests in line with established SLAs and procedures.
• Visit sites on a routine basis to perform onsite maintenance and support activities and liaise with site stakeholders to understand technical challenges.
• Maintain up-to-date and accurate documentation of all incidents and service requests in ServiceNow.

About You:

• Diploma in Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
• Recognised IT professional certifications are desirable, e.g., CCNA, CCNP, ECMS1/2, Network+, etc.
• 5 years of experience in supporting IT systems and working with end users.
• 3 years of experience in implementing and administering complex network and security infrastructure.
• Extended knowledge of computer hardware, software, and network troubleshooting.
• Experience working with end user technology and mobility platforms.
• Experience with IT ticketing systems and remote support tools.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork, with a demonstrated ability to encourage team safety and identify and report hazards.
• Ability to multitask and prioritise effectively.
