About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Mining Engineer to join our corporate office in South Brisbane to provide mine planning support to current projects and tender submissions. Reporting to the Principal Mining Engineer, you will work in accordance with the company values and demonstrate commitment, active involvement and leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide short and medium-term design and planning support as required for operating sites
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure operational goals are achieved safely and effectively (eg production, technical services, clients)
- Provide reporting support to sites as required
- Assist in reserving, scheduling and model setup for new projects
- Conduct compliance and reconciliations
- Coach and mentor junior/graduate engineers
- Some site travel will be required as part of the role
About You:
- Tertiary qualifications in mining, civil engineering or related disciplines
- 5+ years’ open cut experience
- Experience in the design and operating aspects of coal and/or hard rock mines, including short and medium-term mine design and planning
- Competent in mining CAD and scheduling software; experience in Deswik, Vulcan and SPRY highly regarded
- Exposure to other mining related disciplines (eg survey, geology, geotechnical, drill and blast, dragline, coal quality engineering, estimating) highly regarded
- Current Australian working rights and driver’s licence
- Commitment to safety
- Strong communication, teamwork skills and attention to detail
