Blackwater Mine

Located in Central Queensland, BMA’s Blackwater Mine is one of Queensland’s largest coal mines. It is situated approximately 21 kilometres from the town of Blackwater.

The BUMA Australia team has been performing truck and excavator pre-strip operations at Blackwater since May 2012. Over 35 million bank cubic metres of material is mined by our fleets every year.

Our fleet at the mine comprises a combination of Komatsu 930E and Caterpillar 789C haul trucks with Hitachi EX8000, Caterpillar 6060 and Hitachi EX3600 excavators.

 

About the Role:

We are looking for Senior Storeperson to join our team at BUMA Australia in a full time position on a 9 day fortnight roster. Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, you will be responsible for receipting, dispatching and maintaining inventory control within the required time frames and quality requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and control the physical issue of parts required for work orders
  • Manage returns of stock items surplus to completed work order requirements to warehouse locations and process systems adjustments
  • Receive and dispatch goods in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Maintain auditable and legible documentation
  • Develop and maintain tooling registers
  • Ensure all statutory requirements are fulfilled in the stores areas of the project
  • Comply with all aspects of the Quality Assurance System and relevant site Quality Plans, reporting any non-conformances to your Supervisor
  • Maintain accurate records for storage and transport of Dangerous/Hazardous Goods i.e. MSDS/EPG

About You:

  • Previous warehousing experience within construction and/or heavy equipment
  • Computerised catalogue and inventory control experience (JDE, SAP or similar)
  • A valid drivers licence
  • A forklift operators ticket
  • Competent in the use of the common Microsoft Office Suite software
  • Excellent communication, work planning and scheduling skills
