About the Role:
As a HR Business Partner with BUMA Australia, you will partner with operational leaders to provide practical HR support and deliver people initiatives aligned to project priorities and the HR plan. This is a hands-on role suited to a proactive HR professional who enjoys staying close to operations and building trusted relationships with leaders and teams.
In this role, you’ll be trusted to work closely with operational leaders, provide commercially balanced advice and support consistent people practices across the projects you partner with.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partner with site leaders and Project Managers to provide trusted HR advice across the employee lifecycle
- Manage employee and industrial relations matters, including investigations, performance management, grievances and disciplinary processes, while providing clear advice on Enterprise Agreements, awards and policies
- Support workforce planning, labour forecasting, vacancy demand planning and mobilisation activities to help projects meet operational requirements
- Coach and support leaders to build capability in people management, engagement, communication, change and risk management
- Use HR systems, workforce data and reporting insights to maintain accurate records, identify trends and support informed decision making across people and operational matters.
About You:
- A tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or a related discipline
- 4–6 years demonstrated experience supporting operational or project-based environments, with resources, construction or similar highly regulated industries highly regarded
- Strong employee and industrial relations capability, including workplace investigations and Enterprise Agreement interpretation
- Ability to influence outcomes through others and build effective working relationships with leaders, employees and stakeholders
- High level of initiative with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
What you’ll bring:
- Experience using HR systems, ideally SAP
- Sound understanding of HR compliance and payroll processes
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, time management and attention to detail
