About Blackwater
Located in the Bowen Basin of Central Queensland, Whitehaven Coal’s Blackwater Mine is one of Queensland’s largest coal mines. It is situated approximately 21 kilometres from the town of Blackwater.
The BUMA Australia team have been performing truck and excavator pre-strip operations at Blackwater since May 2012. Over 44 million bank cubic metres of material is mined by our fleets every year.
About the Role:
As BUMA Australia grows, we are seeking full time HV Electrician to join our team. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor. This role is a permanent, full-time role operating on a lifestyle roster.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Conduct servicing, repair, and maintenance of heavy mobile mining machinery.
- Conduct servicing, repair, and maintenance of commercial and industrial installations.
- Use of various technologies to investigate and diagnose equipment faults Ensure repairs are carried out in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications
- Complete scheduled maintenance, field breakdowns, servicing - inclusive of component change outs and statutory electrical testing
- Ensure electrical safety is paramount in the execution of all electrical work
- Be a proactive part of the sites electrical team in identifying improvements
- Willingness to be able to perform in supervisory capacity when required
About You:
As a skilled HV electrician you will be an essential member of our maintenance team, highly experienced in conducting servicing, repair Our Ideal candidate will have:
- An Australian Trade Qualification
- Current QLD Electrical Licence or equivalent
- Exposure to a heavy industry environment in a similar role
- Competency in use of diagnostic tools
- Electric Drive Haul truck experience
- HV Switching qualifications
- High level of diagnostic skills and schematic knowledge
- Experience with Electric Haulage systems on Mining Equipment
- Safety Focus with high attention to detail and abide by site safety processes
