We are seeking experienced haul truck operators to join our team at Blackwater Mine on a permanent, full-time basis.

Blackwater Mine 

 

Located in Central Queensland, Whitehaven’s Blackwater Mine is one of Queensland’s largest coal mines. It is situated approximately 21 kilometres from the town of Blackwater. 

 

The BUMA Australia team has been performing truck and excavator pre-strip operations at Blackwater since May 2012. Over 35 million bank cubic metres of material is mined by our fleets every year. 

 

Our fleet at the mine comprises a combination of Komatsu 930E and Caterpillar 789C haul trucks with Hitachi EX8000, Caterpillar 6060 and Hitachi EX3600 excavators.   

 

About the Role:

 

We are seeking experienced Production Operators to join our high-performing team at Blackwater Mine. If you have experience operating any of the following, we want to hear from you: 

 

  • CAT 789 Haul Trucks 

  • Hitachi 930E Electric Trucks 

  • CAT 785 Water Trucks 

 

About You:
 

We are looking for motivated and safety-focused Production Operators who meet the following criteria: 

 

  • Proven Experience: Hands-on experience operating haul trucks in an open-cut mining environment. 

  • Technical Skills: Preference for candidates with experience operating - Electric Trucks – Hitachi 930E (or equivalent), Mechanical Trucks – CAT 789C (or equivalent). 

  • Safety-First Mindset: Strong commitment to following site procedures, with excellent attention to detail. 

  • Results-Driven: Production-oriented with a focus on achieving operational targets efficiently and safely. 

  • Adaptability & Initiative: Ability to work well under pressure and proactively contribute to team success. 

  • Licensing & Certifications: Current and valid driver’s licence (mandatory) & Standard 11 (highly regarded).
